View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: High Tatras, tall herbs near forest road (forest with open canopy disturbed by bark beetle), 16.06.2020, 7-8 mm, Chrysolina hyperici? Thank you in advance.
Species, family:
Chrysolina sp.
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hi treebeard, in this case I can just determine the genus Chrysolina. It's a really interesting-looking beetle, not one of the more common species I'd say. But I cannot find a good match, and being unfamiliar with the Slovakian beetle fauna I have to guess it's a more exotic species than what we have in Germany. It's not C. hyperici though, I'm fairly sure, as the surface of the elytra doesn't quite match. Best wishes, Corinna

Species, family:
cf. Oreina sp.
