On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo,
LG, Christoph

Comment: Hi Gert, this is another Hemicrepidius sp., either H. niger or H. hirtus. They can be distinguished by the shape of the prosternal appendix, which would require an high-res photo of the lower side from lateral view. Best regards, Christoph

Broscus cephalotes. Beste Grüße, Klaas

Request: Hallo Käferteam,
Rosenkäfer (Protaetia cuprea)? Zeig her deine Knie. Der in der Rose könnte identisch sein. Habe ihn seinerzeit vor den Ameisen gerettet.
19. Juli 2006, Antrifttalstauesee, Hessen 280 NN
Danke und LG Helga
Species, family:
Protaetia cuprea
Scarabaeidae

Viele Grüße, Klaas Hi Gert, I think here we need to apply a correction: The perspective lets the specimen appear rather short, but in reality it is elongate and should be Byturus ochraceus. Regards, Christoph
