On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hallo Lennart, dito hier. LG, Christoph Wie #22021, vermutlich Curculionidae.

Species, family:
Ocypus sp.

Comment: Hi GertVH, this is a representative of genus Ocypus, but here I don't dare to go to species level Best regards, Christoph - PS: Of course it has red eyes... and sharp teeth!! It's Count Dracula!! Just kidding, the eyes can appear brown or reddish depending on the position and intensity of the light source.

LG, Christoph

Comment: Hello Gert, one can almost imagine a crest of scales at the rear end, between the elytra, which would itdentify it as Curculio nucum ... a slightly oblique view would have helped her. From this photo alone, I cannot exclude Curculio glandium, though. Best reags, Michael

LG, Christoph
