On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Ischnomera cyanea. Ex ungue leonem. Ein Weibchen bei der Eiablage. Die Klauen (die etwa 1/10 Millimeter lang sind) so zu fotografieren, dass das Zähnchen sichtbar ist, hat einige Mühe gekostet. Zum Vergleich der Zähnchen bei cyanea und caerulea gibt es bei coleonet gute Bilder. Ca. 8mm. 21.04.2020

Comment: Hallo Ufo, das ist Aspidapion validum, der normalerweise an Stockrose wohnt. Aber so spät im Jahr kann man sich bei Rüsselkäfern sowieso nicht mehr auf die Fundpflanze als Bestimmungshilfe verlassen, oft sitzen sie auf irgendwas, was noch halbwegs grün ist. Comment: Hi Gert, this is Sitona lepidus. Another fine example of an identifiable S. lepidus, like we had recently. The groove in the beetle's forehead, running up from the middle of the rostrum, clearly reaches far back to about level with the back edge of the eyes. This groove is shorter in the otherwise very similar species S. puncticollis. Best wishes, Corinna
