On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo, liebes Käferteamm,
ein ca. 8 mm großen Drilus flavescens; ich habe ihn gerade noch in Ruhe und dann eine Sekunde vor dem Abflug erwischt, so dass man schön sehen kann, wie er unter den Flügeln aussieht. Aufgenommen am 29.4.2015 am Wegrand in der Camargue/Südfrankreich.

Request: Habe ich dieses Tier mit Glocianus punctiger richtig bestimmt? Länge knapp 3 mm, gefunden am Bürvenicher Berg auf 106m üNN, am 04.05.2015. Er saß auf dem Spitzwegerich in Foto C, der aber auf allen Seiten von reichlich Löwenzahn umringt war. Danke schön und lieben Gruß!

Comment: Hallo Rüsselkäferin, das wird wohl Glocianus punctiger sein. Der Gesamteindruck stimmt jedenfalls, und es ist die häufigste Glocianus-Art. Für eine besser gesicherte Bestimmung müsste man eine klare Ansicht des Hinterendes haben. Wenn das Pygidium fast in ganzer Länge eine tiefe Rinne aufweist, ist ers sicher.
