On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Calodera nigrita. An einem Feldrand, an dem es zwar zu dem Zeitpunkt, nachdem aller Schnee rasend schnell weggeschmolzen war, sehr feucht war, aber nicht in Gewässernähe. Ca. 4,8mm. 17.02.2021

Comment: Hallo zimorodek, der Hinterrand vom matten Halsschild ist leicht ausgeschweift, also vorsichtig bestätigt als Calodera nigrita. Allerdings ist hier eine Zweitmeinung angebracht, da nigrita als peschschwarz angegeben wird und nur 4.4mm lang werden soll. diesen winzigen (3 mm) Rüsselkäfer habe ich letzten Winter auf der Wedelunterseite von einer Mauerraute (Asplenium ruta-muraria) (Farn) gefunden. Fotografiert am 28.12.2020 in der Burgruine Brandenburg.
Könnte es Protapion apricans sein?
