View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 6.5.2021 I know that Protaetia cuprea ikonomovi is endemic here, but this looks like Protaetia fieberi to me. Can you confirm? If not, why?
Best regards and thanks,
Oscar
Species, family:
Protaetia sp.
Scarabaeidae
Comment: Hi Oscar, and welcome to kerbtier.de! In this case I can just onfirm the genus Protaetia. First because I'm unfortunately not an expert for the fauna of Cyprus and secondly because I would need to see the specimen under the microscope. Sorry & Best regards, Christoph
