On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Liebes Team, am 11.05.2021 fand ich nachts diesen ca. 5mm langen Colydium sp. an einem kürzlich umgefallenen Stamm einer Buche, die aber bereits länger tot ist (nur dieses Frühjahr ist der ca. 20 m hohe Stamm in ca. 5 m Höhe abgebrochen und liegt jetzt seitlich daneben). Ich hoffe ja immer noch auf einen eindeutigen C. filiforme, falls es so etwas gibt. Hier sind die Flügeldecken am Ende ziemlich abgestutzt, und der Halsschild wirkt hinten schmäler. Reicht euch das? Sonst werde mich mal versuchen, die Antennenglieder größer und scharf zu erwischen und zu vermessen. Wobei die Trennung "mehr als doppelt so breit wie lang" und "doppelt so breit wie lang" eine knappe Angelegenheit bleibt. :) Beste Grüße, Adrian

Comment: Hallo Berliner Käfer, das ist für mich Colydium elongatum. Zum einen ist der Halsschild aus meiner Sicht zur Basis nicht verengt und die Flügeldecken sind an der Basis noch nicht mal eine Hauch rot.Danke für die Meldung. lg, Gernot Seh auch eher elongatum. LG, Christoph

Request: Found in Hradec Kralove (East Bohemia) in a garden on a currant bush on 14.05.2021. Body length less than 2 mm. Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, the beetle was moving all the time. I guess it could be Scymnus interruptus. Is it so?
