View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

majo 2021-05-12 15:16
Country, date (discovery):
Slovakia
2021-05-12
Request: 12.05.2021, found in Zvolen, Slovakia, 295 masl., garden, approx 8 mm. Please identify. Marián
Species, family:
Xylita livida
Melandryidae
Comment: Hi majo, unbelievable, in this case I can just determine the order Coleoptera. Looks like Dalopius at first sight, but of course it is not. I think probably not even Elateridae. I have asked an expert for help, if I get an answer, I'll let you know. Best regards, Christoph I got the answer: It is Xylita livida. Very nice! Of circumpolar distribution, in North and Central Europe only scattered and rare, in the montance zone. Best regards, Christoph
