On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hallo GK, das ist ein Männchen von Callimus angulatus, was schon ein ganz netter Fund ist. Mediterrane Art, von Spanien über Italien bis zum Kaukasus und in den Nordiran. Circumalpin wird Mitteleuropa erreicht. Die Larve entwickelt sich in armdicken, abgestorbenen Ästen von Eiche (Quercus) und Buche (Fagus). Die schlanken, metallisch blauen oder grünen Käfer findet man bei sonnigem Wetter an Wärmehängen und Waldrändern auf blühendem Weißdorn (Crataegus) und Kreuzdorn (Rhamnus), kaum auf anderen Blütenpflanzen.
