On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hallo Karen, das ist der Kleine Puppenräuber Calosoma inquisitor. Ab Anfang Mai gehen sie wieder auf die Jagd und sind dabei in der niederen Vegetation z.B. an Waldwegen zu finden. Gibt's in verschiedenen Färbungsvarianten, von grün-kupfrig über bläulich bis schwarz. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Appius, das ist Ophonus ardosiacus, eine der wenigen Ophonus-Arten, die sich gut am Foto bestimmen lassen. Die Halsschildform ist sehr charakteristisch mit der totalen Verrundung der Hinterecken. In Mitteleuropa nicht im Norden (Norddeutschland, Dänemark). In Deutschland verläuft die Grenze durch NRW/Hessen/Thüringen/Sachsen. Stellenweise häufig und sich ausbreitend. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Appius, das dürfte das Weibchen von Ptilinus pectinicornis sein. Vor allem an harten Laubhölzern (Buche, Eiche). Die Verwechslungsart P. fuscus ist dunkler, fast schwarz und einfarbig, an Weichhölzern (Weide, Pappel). Die Männchen der beiden Arten sind durch unterschiedliche Länge der Fühlerlamellen leichter zu unterscheiden. In ganz Europa, ohne den äußersten Süden. Häufig. LG, Christoph
