On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo, liebes Team,

Request: Hi, thank you for an ID. 5.5.2015, Slovakia, 250m. Size ca 10mm.
Regards, Karol
Species, family:
Amara similata
Carabidae
Comment: Hi Karol Ox, I tend to Amara similata herem since the tibiae appear at least a bit lighter the the limbs. Amara ovata, which is the second species under consideration, looks pretty similar to Amara similata but the tibiae are usually dark. There is - in addition - a difference in the shape of the pronotum, which should be a bit rounder in Amara ovata. Best regards, Oliver

Comment: Hi Karol Ox, with a little uncertainty Amara ovata. The difference to the two others are the dark tibiae, which are orange in Amara similata. Best regards. Oliver
