View answered requests for beetle ID

On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo, liebes Team,
ebenfalls am 24.05.2015 in unserem Garten nahe Lüneburg gefunden. 15 mm (gemessen).
Danke und viele Grüße!
Carola
Species, family:
Melanotus sp.
Elateridae
LG, Christoph

Kann man da etwas sagen?
Danke und Grüße!

Species, family:
Cardiophorinae sp.

Species, family:
Chrysolina varians
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hallo Markus, bestätigt als Chrysolina varians (ganz schön farbvariabel, varians eben, nomen est omen). Danke für die Meldung. LG, Christoph

Request: Found yesterday (24.05.2015) in the North Slovakia, mountain forest (altitude about 1000 m.a.s.l.). I seek this beetle in your gallery, but without success, therefore I give this photo: Carabus variolosus :)
Species, family:
Carabus variolosus
Carabidae
Comment: Hi Inja, confirmed as Carabus variolosus. Most likely the subspecies nodulosus. Critically endangered in Europe - many of the remaining popoulations are located in the south east of Europe. Occurs near water in wet montane forests, often near the sources of brooks. Nice species, nice photos :) Thanks for submitting. Best regards, Fabian

LG, Christoph
