On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Huhu! Ist das Anoplotrupes stercorosus oder Geotrupes? Wenn letzterer, kann es eigentlich nur niger sein, und das glaub ich irgendwie nicht. Ich fand, wie ein gewöhnlicher Waldmisti wirkte der Käfer nicht, Fundort war auch nicht im Wald, sondern unter einem Pferdehaufen mitten auf der Dreiborner Hochfläche. Länge etwa 25mm, obenauf ganz schwarz, die 2 bzw. 3 Leisten der Hinterschienen (in der Montage die drei kleinen Bilder unten) kann ich schwer beurteilen. Falls es noch ein Merkmal gibt, das helfen könnte, bitte melden, es gibt noch mehr Bilder, leider keins, was wirklich schön wäre. Funddatum 19.06.2021. Vielen lieben Dank! :)

Comment: Hallo Rüsselkäferin, das ist Geotrupes stercorarius. Die Elytren sind wesentlich stärker gestreift als dies beim nur oberflächlich zart gepunkteten G. niger der Fall ist und die Bauchsegmente auch in der Mitte gepunktet und behaart.
