View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Beetle found in a greenhouse in the Netherlands on 07.03.2022. Unfortunately the antennae broke off but I put it next to the beetle. Body length is approx. 3-4 mm.
I was unable to count the number of tarsi parts.
Is someone able to identify this beetle? Or maybe ID it up to family? Would be of great help!
Thanks a lot in advance!!!
If further pictures of details are required, please dont hesistate to contact me
Species, family:
Cryptamorpha desjardinsi
Silvanidae
Comment: Hi okoki, this is Cryptamorpha desjardinsi. The beetles are native to Asia but have been imported to most parts of the world through human activity. It can be found on various plants and apparently feeds on mold and other fungi. Best regards, Christoph

Sorry! Viele Grüße, Jürgen
