View answered requests for beetle ID

On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment:
Hi Cilko in this row of Donus sp. I was initially tempted to say that this is Donus as well. But after considering a while, I think this could be Liophloeus tessulatus. Confusing... ;-) Maybe my Co-Admins like to comment. Regards, Christoph   The longer I look at it, the more doubts I have. Donus or not Donus, that's the question. Christoph

Hi Cilko, this is again a difficult one. Tribus Cleonini for sure. I think that's most probably Mecaspis alternans, which is present in Slovakia as well. Literature (FHL) gives 7-14 mm body length (without snout). Regards, Christoph

Sorry. LG, Christoph

Hi Caio, no chance, a larva from a foreign fauna is definitely beyond what we can do. Common species in dried herbs are e.g. Ptinidae sp. If a adult specimen appears, that would help to narrow it down at least to family level. Regards, Christoph

:-) Was meint ihr? Geht es überhaupt bis zur Art? Ich danke vielmals! (30.04.2013, Terrasse)
