On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 11.07.2015, in Krautschicht neben einem Bach, Wiese, Waldrand, ca. 7mm. Cantharis thoracica ? Viele Grüße
Species, family:
Cantharis sp.
Cantharidae

Request: Am 12.06.2014 in S.-H., Timmendorfer
Strand, NSG "Aalbekniederung" entlang eines Waldrandes gesehen.
Species, family:
Cantharis fulvicollis
Cantharidae

Country, date (discovery):

Request: Found today in Bielsko-Biala (South Poland) I think it is Cantharis nigra.
Species, family:
Cantharis fulvicollis
Cantharidae
Comment: Hi Inja, I have to correct myself with regard to the synonyms, which I confused in this case: I think your're right with your assumption C. nigra (formerly C. thoracica, not C. fulvicollis; the latter is nowadays called C. flavilabris): Regards, Christoph The scutellum is completely dark and the pronotum has a smoky color at the sides and the beetle is not cylindrical enough for thoracia, so it should be fulvicollis (current names mentioned above). Best regards Holger
