On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hi Inja, it's a light-colored form of Propylea quatuordecimpunctata. Palearctic species, Europe, North Africa, Asia Minor, Caucasus, Siberia. Very common predator of various aphid species, ubiquitous in the herbal layer of different habitat types. Regards, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Rüsselkäferin, das ist meiner Meinung nach ein Athous subfuscus mit den rötlich aufgehellten Halsschildhinterecken und der verdunkelten Naht und Fld.-Seitenrand (was hier jedoch zugegebenermaßen schwach ausfällt). Von daher dürfen meine Co-Admins hier evtl. auch noch ihre Meinung kundtun. LG, Christoph

Die sind fies, weil sie von ganz gelbbraun (so wie in Deinem Fall) bis ganz schwarz gehen können (so wie in meiner Familienübersicht). Südliches Nordeuropa bis Südeuropa. In Deutschland im ganzen Gebiet auf blühendem Gebüsch an Waldrändern, häufig. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Rüsselkäferin, korrekt, das ist das Männchen des Großen Breitrüsslers Anthribus albinus. Die Käfer leben in Laubwäldern und entwickeln sich an verpilztem Holz von Buche, seltener Erle und anderen Laubbäumen. Europa ohne den Norden, Kleinasien, Vorderer Orient.
