On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 26.08.2022 Istrien, Duga Luka, ein paar Häuser entfernt von der Palme aus #366882, zahlreich cf. Protaetia aeruginosa an einem hoch im Gelände stehenden Feigenbaum. Im Wipfelbereich um angefressene (über)reife Feige Ansammlung zahlreicher Exemplare. Dort offensichtlich zugleich Nahrungs- und Fortpflanzungshabitat. Und quasi Kombi aus hill- und tree-topping-behaviour. Wenn aufgescheucht, flogen Tiere Baumkronen in der Umgebung an. Näher kam ich leider nicht ran... meine Vermutung ist ein Zusammenhang mit dem oben erwähnten Larvalhabitat, wo ich die ersten einzelnen, schnell weit flüchtenden Brummer im Ort wahrgenommen habe. Stammstarke Altbäume mit Verdacht auf Mulmhöhlen sind mir in der Umgebung jedenfalls nicht aufgefallen. Evtl. auch eine andere, eingeschleppte Rosenkäferart? Haben mit jedenfalls ein paar Tage gefoppt, bevor ich mehr als ein grünglitzerndes Brummen sah, diese Skarabäusse... Vielen Dank für eure Mühen!

Comment: Hallo Andi0815, anhand der gerade Hinterschienen ist Nicrophorus vespillo auszuschließen. Da weder Kopf noch Halsschild noch Hinterleib goldgelb behaart ist, sondern nur die äußerste Hinterleibsspitze, tendiere ich zu N. investigator. Aber die Behaarung kann bei älteren Tieren auch abgerieben sein. Ich lass mal noch für eine Zweitmeinung stehen. Viele Grüße, Daniel Ich fürchte, da geht es auch für mich nicht weiter. LG, Christoph
