On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hi Cilko, another Osphya bipunctata. They can be pretty variable with yellow or black elytra and an all-black or red pronotum with black marks. Here we have a male (thickened hind femora). But not all males exhibit this feature. Regards, Christoph

Comment: Moin Volly, da hast Du das in Deutschland recht seltene Glück gehabt Protaetia lugubris vor "die Flinte" zu bekommen. Eine Baumhöhlen bewohnende Art, die sich meist in den oberen Bereichen der Bäume aufhält und deshalb, neben ihrer Seltenheit, auch dort, wo sie vorkommt, nur selten gefunden wird. Viele Grüße, Klaas

Comment: Hallo Karl, korrekt bestimmt als Scymnus auritus, ein Männchen. Südpaläarktische Art, Europa, Kleinasien, Kaukasus, Sibirien. Lebt in Laubwäldern und an Waldrändern. Verfolgt vor allem Blattläuse der Gattung Phylloxera, zu der auch die bei Winzern gefürchtete Weinreblaus gehört. Jedoch stellt er nur den Vertretern dieser Gattung auf Eiche (Quercus) nach. Da Foto ist jetzt nicht mehr schön, aber ich habe die Helligkeit und den Kontrast so verschoben, dass die Punktreihen an der Seite der Flügeldecke möglichst gut zu sehen ist.
Kannst Du damit was anfangen?

Request: Hallo Bestimmungsteam, ich weiß, die Bilder sind nicht so dolle. Aber dieser Rhynchitidae war mit ca. 3 mm nicht leicht zu fotografieren. Er saß am 11.05.2013 an unserer Hauswand. Bei meinen Bemühungen, die Fotos zu optimieren ist etwas der blaue Farbton der Elytren verloren gegangen. Lässt sich hier noch eine Artbestimmung machen.
Meine Vermutung geht in Richtung Caenorhinus germanicus.
Fundort ist Wilhelmsfeld im Odenwald.

Comment: Hallo Karl, ich denke hier haben wir Platycerus caraboides vor uns. 9-13 mm, in der Ebene und niederen Lagen. Verwechslungsart ist P. caprea, 13-15 mm, in Gebirgslagen. Nach Habitus, Halsschildform- und punktierung und Form der Kiefer würde ich P. caraboides für wahrscheinlich halten. LG, Christoph Eindeutig P. caraboides. Davon abgesehen kömmt P. caprea in NRW nicht vor. Viele Grüße, Klaas MTB 5608 liegt ja auch in Rheinland-Pfalz. Allerdings kömmt er da auch nicht vor *oink* LG, Christoph PS: Aus WF gibt's seit neuestem 'ne Meldung von P. caprea.

Comment: Hallo Dennis, nach allem was ich sehe, dürfte Acupalpus meridianus recht wahrscheinlich sein. Allerdings sieht man den 2. Zwischenraum am Apex der Fld. schlecht, so dass ich (den viel selteneren) A. interstitialis nicht mit letzter Sicherheit ausschließen mag. Hier möge Klaas noch seine Meinung kundtun.
