On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo, liebes Käferteam,
wenn ich die diesbezüglichen Anfragen hier studiere, dann wird wohl nicht mehr als Omophlus sp. (höchstwahrscheinlich lepturoides) herauskommen. Größe ca. 12 mm, gefunden am 4.5.2014 aus einem Eichenblatt in einem Schlosspark im Quercy, Südostfrankreich.

Comment: Hi verstraeten, this is a member of genus Selatosomus or Close related. I checked the Selatosomus, but the only species which is reported to be black is Selatosomus globicollis, which does not occur in Italy and which is different to yours. I can only guess that it is a black coloured forma or Aberration of Selatosomus aeneus or maybe Selatosomus amplicollis or S. melancholicus. The other three species of Selatosomus occuring in Italy do not fit to this one. Best regards, klaas
