On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 05.05.2022; ca. 11-12 mm; auf einem kleinen Fahrweg unterhalb des Berges Picota (774 m) in der Algarve; Bostrichus capucinus? Wenn ja, dann die seltene Variante mit schwarzen Elytren, sonst eine andere Spezies, aber welche? Vielleicht könnt Ihr so nett sein und mir bei der Bestimmung helfen, obwohl der Fundort ja weit außerhalb Eures Interesses liegt. Vielen Dank und besten Gruß, Volker

Comment: Hallo FokusA, hier geht es für mich leider nur bis zur Tribus Bostrichini. Einen ganz schwarzen Bostrichus capucinus habe ich selbst noch nie gesehen, auch wenn die Literatur sagt, dass es die ganz selten mal geben soll. Was mich verwirrt ist die sehr dicht wirkende Punktierung der Fld. Einen Moment habe ich an Lichenophanes numida gedacht mit abgeriebenen Tomentflecken. Ich bleibe aber unschlüssig. LG, Christoph
