On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Home/Orchard, Maia/NorthPortugal, on 15/03/2013 on Agapanthus sp.!
I already have 3 identifications to the genus level, and different species, as Phyllotetra; among the Naturdata Portuguese records there are 14 species, but this one, about ~ 0,7 cm in length, looks as P. variipennis, which seems to be very specific (I found a record for Portugal on Gbif.org and is listed on Naturdata). Is it possible to go beyond the genus level?

Comment: Hi Carlos, this is Phyllotreta striolata, showing the characteristically shaped yellow stripes on the elytra. Compare with those of P. variipennis: They are evenly curved on the insied, not straight like in striolata. You'll also find images online under the synonym Phyllotreta vittata. Best wishes, Corinna
