On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Viele Grüße, Michael Hm, nach interner Diskussion halte ich hier einen Dorytomus melanophthalmus für wahrscheinlicher, wegen des gleichmäßig gekrümmten Rüssels. Aber leider bleibt das weiterhin etwas unsicher, da auch für melanophthalmus die Zeichnung sehr ungewöhnlich ist. LG Corinna

Comment: Hi Mihajlo, I do think it's Phyllobius pyri, they are somewhat variable and I also find some of them confusing. This one here has lost the characteristic white scales on its scutellum which doesn't help ^^. But my weevil identifying powers tell me it is he (or she). :) Best wishes, Corinna

Request: For me, one of the toughest families to identify, especially when no patterns.
At Home, Maia/North Portugal, on 14-04-2013, on herbaceous plant and typical forest habitat. About ~0.8-1.0 cm in length.
