On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

  Hallo Bergmänndle, ich fürchte da ist bestimmungstechnisch nicht viel zu machen. Die schwarzen Otiorhynchus aus den Alpen sind artenreich und schwer zu bestimmen. Da braucht man hochaufgelöste Fotos und selbst dann bleibt man oft stecken. Daher von mir hier nur Otiorhynchus sp. LG, Christoph

  Hallo Karl, korrekt bestimmt als Kuckucksrüssler Lasiorhynchites sericeus. Nett, den findet man nicht gerade jeden Tag. Nordafrika, Europa ohne den hohen Norden, bis Transkaukasien. Die Weibchen fertigen selbst keine Blattwickel an, sondern legen ihre Eier in denen von Attelabus nitens ab. LG, Christoph

  Very easy to identify: Phyllobius oblongus. You can identify the genus by watching the insertion of the antennae. It has to be on top of the snout. And P. oblongus is the only one in Centraleurope coloured black and brown this way. Regards, klaas

Hallo zusammen, ich denke es haldelt sich um Curculio sp. Kann man dazu was näheres sagen? Ich habe 2 Exemplare in unmittelbarer umgebung gefunden. Das Schildchen ist deutlich länglich und auf Foto B sieht es für mich so aus, als ob das Tier einen Borstenkamman der hinteren Flügeldecken naht hätte. Manchmal bildet man sich das aber auch nur ein.   Hi Inja, nope, everything stays the same: C. rufa, C. pallida and C. cryptica (the latter is somewhat less likely, because it often, but not always, exhibits a narrow blackened apex of the femora). I can't distinguish them by photo, you would need to examine the aedoeagus of the male. Regards, Christoph

  Hallo Rüsselkäferin, wenn das Tier sicher 9-10 mm lang war (ohne Fühler!), dann handelt es sich um ein Weibchen von O. virescens. Ähnlich sind O. lurida und O. monticola, die aber mit 5-7 mm deutlich kleiner sind. O monticola ist zudem nicht aus Eurer Ecke gemeldet. LG, Christoph
