Comment: Hallo DiFuh, das Tier ist "abgesoffen" und mehr als Gattung Harpalus sehe ich nicht. Wie wir ja schon oft geschrieben haben, werden dunkle Käfer auf hellen Untergründen nicht ausreichend belichtet. Abhilfe: Spotmessung aufs Tier oder gezielt überbelichten. Viele Grüße, Jürgen

jeweils nachts im Licht vom Fenster und am Zaun Irish Grid R909097 Klima montan, ringsum artenreiche Wiesen, Sumpf und Moor sowie viele Sitkafichtenforste, kleinteilig auch viele alte Laubbäume wie Bergahorn, Eichen Eschen, Buchen, Erlen, Ebereschen und sehr viel alter Weißdorn aber auch kleine Kahlschläge mit viel hier dort belassenem Totholz
habe den Maikäfer erstmals hier in Irland gesehen.
Bin mir nicht sicher:
1. ob es in beiden Nächten Männchen derselben Art waren und
2. ob es beides Melalonthon melalonthon ist ? In Irland kommen M.melalonthon und hippocastani vor...

Comment: Hallo Arachne, ja, das ist Melolontha melolontha. In Deutschland ist es normal, dass es mehrjährige Zyklen gibt, zu deren Höhepunkten immer besonders viele Tiere auftreten. Vielleicht ist das in Irland auch so und 2023 gibt es ein stärkeres Auftreten? Viele Grüße, Jürgen

Request: Diese Elateridae war heute, 28.05.2023, in einem Garten in Ermelo, Gelderland. Er war etwa 1 cm. Ich dachte das ist vielleicht Ampedus sanguineus, aber ich weiss dass es einige gleichende Arten gibt. Geht es noch weiter als Ampedus sp.?
