On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Und dann fand ich am 11.7.23 an einem Grashalm am Waldrand noch diesen Cocci (2.9 mm). Ein Scymnus. Mit dunklen Hinterschenkeln... dann kommen wohl nur Sc. apetzi und Sc. pallipediformis (apetzoides) in Frage. Der Kopf und alle Schienen sind (anders als bei Apetzi) dunkel, außerdem ist er erheblich schlanker als der apetzi, den ich schon mal hatte (#122858). Also Scymnus pallipediformis? Besten Dank und LG

Comment: Hallo Kalli, ich tendiere hier zu Scymnus frontalis. Wie Du schon sagst, ist er für S. apetzi nicht rundlich genug. Aber S. apetzoides sollte dunkle Schienen haben, die sehe ich hier nicht. Für S. frontalis spräche hier die Körperform, wobei der Halsschild ungewöhnlicherweise ganz schwarz ist (soll aber gelegentlich vorkommen). Da sollte aber unbedingt noch eine zweite Meinung her.
