View answered requests for beetle ID
|
On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

LG, Christoph

Request: Yesterday midzealand Denmark. About 5mm. Under bark.
Thanks! Jonas
Species, family:
Lordithon cf. trinotatus
Staphylinidae
Comment: Hi Sommerlutz, this is likely Lordithon trinotatus. It can be separated from the very similar L. exoletus by the presence of a raised hind margin of the pronotum. Which looks to be present in your specimen. But I am not 100 % sure therefore only with some doubt. Best regards, Holger
