On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

diesen interessanten Rüssler habe ich gestern, 25.08.2023 in Eich, Altrhein (Erlebnispfad) aus der Röhrichtzone geschüttelt. So einen habe ich bisher noch nicht gesehen. Etwas mehr als 4mm. Könnt ihr sagen, wer es ist? Lieben Dank und Gruß

Comment: Hallo kiki69, gut erkannt als eine Besonderheit, das ist wahrscheinlich Thryogenes festucae, was ein ganz heißer Fund wäre! Den gabs in HS schon ewig nicht mehr. Die Form des 3. Fühlerglieds spricht auf jeden Fall dafür, es ist länglich und grenzt das Tier somit von T. nereis ab. Mir wäre lieber, ich hätte noch eine Seiteansicht, um den 100% festzumachen. Auf jeden Fall darf hier auch noch eine zweite Meinung dazu. Viele Grüße, Corinna PS: Leider haben wir nun beschlossen, dass die am Foto zu unsicher sind, ist eine schwierige Gattung. Wir schwanken zwischen T. festucae und T. atrirostris - da kommen wir leider nicht weiter. Sorry & viele Grüße, Corinna

Request: Could anything be said about these beetle larvae? Maybe family level? I collected them in alcohol, so they are a bit dehydrated and shrunk. Size is 6 mm. Collected 11.05.23
