On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 10.06.2016; Norditalien, Friaul, Adriaküste. Auf Stufen zum Strand. Ca.5-6mm. Bei dem dachte ich zuerst er sei tot, als ich ihn jedoch an eine hellere Stelle umsetzen wollte, flog er ohne Vorwarnung von dannen. Kommt man hier weiter als Scarabaeidae sp. ? Für Blatthornkäfer-Fans ist Italien auf jeden Fall 'ne Reise wert... ich hab noch ein paar, die ich aber wohl erst nach meiner Rückkehr einreichen werden wollen kann... ;-)

Comment: Hallo Gregor, das sollte der Pinselkäfer Trichius zonatus sein. Die beiden Verwechslungsarten sind T. fasciatus, der aber montan vorkommt und anders gezeichnet ist und T. sexualis, den man am Foto zwar nicht abtrennen kann, der aber aus Westfalen nicht gemeldet ist. LG, Christoph
