Request: Picture taken in an oak forest close to Brno (Moravia) on 15th June 2013. I wonder if it is possible to identify this Anthaxia sp.
Species, family:
Anthaxia semicuprea
Buprestidae
Comment: Hi Mirax, that's the eastern species Anthaxia semicuprea. Its easily confused with the more western species A. salicis and one of the species that need to be photographed straight from above, because of the habit of its Pronotum. Regards, klaas

Request: Cold you please identify? Found on 15th June 2013 on potato plant near Brno (Moravia).
Species, family:
Stenocorus meridianus
Cerambycidae
Comment: Hi Mirax, this should be Stenocorus meridianus. The rarer sister species S. quercus exhibits a shorter 3rd article of the antenna (shorter than article 5). Throughout Europe, including the British Isles, to Asia Minor and the Caucasus. Larva in various deciduous trees. Quite common. Regards, Christoph

Species, family:
Cionus tuberculosus
Curculionidae
LG, Christoph

Species, family:
Cryptocephalus moraei
Chrysomelidae
Comment: Hi Vera, natürlich korrekt bestimmt als Cryptocephalus moraei. Wirtspflanze ist Hypericum perforatum (Foto A, *schnipsel* *schnipsel*). Europa bis Kaukasus, nicht selten. LG, Christoph :-D

Species, family:
Agriotes sp.

Comment: Hi Inja, that's some kind of Agriotes, but I haven't ever seen any like this. Maybe it is an eastern european colourvariation of a known western species or an eastern species. Regards, klaas

Species, family:

Species, family:
Barynotus obscurus

Comment: Hi Inja, this should be Barynotus obscurus. Polyphagous, nocturnal, quite common in Central Europe. There are a few other Barynotus sp. in Poland, but they can be excluded given your photos. Regards, Christoph

Was meinen die Experten? Danke! LG, Urs
Species, family:
Otiorhynchus subdentatus
Curculionidae

Vielleicht A. pomorum? Danke schön und liebe Grüße!
Species, family:
Ampedus sp.
Elateridae
