View answered requests for beetle ID

On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: found under bark of a dead Tree, on a hill, in North of France, at Neufchâtel-Hardelot, the 22.06.2016 , size maybe around 3-5 mm ? maybe Rhyncolus sculpturatus ?
Species, family:
Rhyncolus cf. elongatus
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi Thomas, this is quite likely Rhyncolus elongatus. However, a few more species occur in France than in Germany, and I don't know those (and have no up to date key). Best regards, Michael
