On this page you can find photos submitted by users. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case at least a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Am 30.05.2016 - ein Leuchtkäfer, auch in Tansania. Kann gerade nicht mehr genau sagen, wo das war, sicher in Matema, weiß nicht, ob See-nah oder eher im Wald. An einer Flussmündung gab es zumindest tausende leuchtende Käfer, vermutlich war es da.. 12-15 mm.

Comment: Moin Finnie, ich lehne mich sehr weit aus dem Fenster und bestätige als Trichius fasciatus. Am besten wäre es gewesen, wenn man eine Aufnahme der Mittelschiene hätte, auf der man die Einkerbung der Schiene erkennen kann. Comment: Hallo Schlarüsselchen, und willkommen auf kerbtier.de! Das ist der Nashornkäfer Oryctes nasicornis. Früher eher selten geworden, jedoch seit mehreren Jahrzehnten wieder häufiger, da die Art Komposthaufen für sich entdeckt hat, wo sie bei der Zersetzung hilft. Vielen Dank für die Meldung.
