On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: very small beetle - maybe 3 mm - 27.02.2017
Species, family:
Aphodius sp.
Scarabaeidae
Comment: Hi valterj, no chance, in this case I can just guess the family Scarabaeidae. Sorry & best regards, Christoph It is genus Aphodius in the old way. today Aphodius is separated into many genus', most of the subgenus got an "upgrade" and are genus today. One can discuss how usefull that is. ;-)Best regards, Klaas

Foto B ist A. prodromus oder (weniger wahrscheinlich) A. sphacelatus. Foto C ist wieder A. distinctus. Was mich mal wieder ermahnen lässt: EIN Käfer pro Anfrage, gell! LG, Christoph
