On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 17-5-2017 2 Auf der Insel Griend (53.250N 5.250E). Während Insekteninvasion. Dachte zuerst an Chrysanthia cf. nigricornis, aber sieht doch anders aus. Länge 9 mm.

P.S.: Wie unterscheidet man denn eigentlich A. haemorrhoidalis von A. zebei, der ja bei mir in der Gegend wohl auch vorkommt? Ich hab mir mal ein paar Fotos angeschaut und kann da keine Unterschiede erkennen... 🤔

Comment: Hallo Markus, bestätigt als Athous haemorrhoidalis. Die Unterscheidung ist subtil: Bei haemorrhoidalis ist das 4. Tarsenglied sehr klein und schmal, nicht dicker als das Klauengld. Das 3. Tarsenglied hat unterseits einen zweilappigen Sohlenlappen, der sich unter das 4. Gld. erstreckt, so daß dieses von oben kaum erkennbar ist. Beim A. zebei ist das 4. Tarsenglied kleiner als Gld. 3, aber wesentlich dicker als das Klauengld. und von unten nicht durch einen Sohlenlappen gedeckt. LG, Christoph
