On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: 16.06.2017; Schotterweg, kleines Wäldchen; trocken; Porec, Istrien. So... ein kleines Special am Samstagmorgen: Diesen Laufkäferkopf (Totfund) fand ich gestern am frühen Morgen. Er ist ca.6-7mm breit und 5-5,5mm lang (ohne Kieferzangen). Hab ein bißchen rumgesucht und bin zu der Überzeugung gekommen, dass es sich um den Kopf von Callisthenes reticulatus handeln müsste... oder zumindest was anderes aus der "Calosoma-Ecke"... ;-)

Comment: Hallo Markus, ein Laufkäferkopf ist das nicht - man beachte Form und Größe des ersten Fühlerglieds und den Sporn der übers Auge reicht. Der Kopf gehört zu einem Schröter - wahrscheinlich Dorcus parallelipipedus. Callisthenes reticulatus kommt meines Wissens nach in Kroatien auch nicht vor ... Viele Grüße, Fabian
