On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Moin Bergmänndle, ein Blick auf die Fühler petzt Dir, dass es eine Coccinelidae ist. In diesem Fall ein praktisch zeichnungsloser Rhyzobius litura. Viele Grüße, Klaas Foto C zeigt die Rundung des Halsschild-Seitenrandes. Es sollte somit Rhyzobius chrysomeloides sein. LG, Christoph

Comment: Moin Twinke, ich kann leider die Qualität des Fundes nicht beurteilen, vermute aber, dass der Nachweis für Österreich ein sehr guter ist, wenn das Brennholz aus Österreich kommt. Ansonsten wurde der Käfer einfach nur verschleppt. Ropalopus clavipes, Männchen ist es. Viele Grüße, Klaas

Comment: Hi Prakash, in this case I have inquired W. Schwaller, _the_ reknowned expert for family Tenebrionidae worldwide. He determined the specimen as representative of genus Freudeia. To assess the exact species, a high-res photo of the lower side of the pronotum is required. Based on the place of discovery, Freudeia nepalica is likely. Best regards, Christoph
