On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

diesen etwa 2 cm langen Käfer habe ich heute in einem trockenen Sandgebiet gefunden, wo er sich auf einem Birkenblatt sonnte. Handelt es sich um Arhopalus rusticus?

Comment: Hallo Frank, Arhopalus rusticus ist zwar sehr wahrscheinlich, ich kann aber am vorliegenden Foto den selteneren A. ferus nicht wirklich abtrennen. Man braucht eine hochaufgelöste Aufnahme der Augen, um zu sehen, ob da Borsten zwischen den Ommatidien stehen oder nicht.
