Das Zähnchen am Flügeldeckenende ist erkennbar, daher Saperda carcharias (20-30 mm, an Pappel). Die Verwechslungsart S. similis (15-22 mm, an Salweide und Zitterpappel) ist deutlich seltener und weist abgerundeten Flügeldeckenenden auf. Danke für die Meldung. In Schweden, ebenso wie in Deutschland, ist dies die einzige Nicrophorus-Art mit orange-roten Binden der Flügeldecken (hier übrigens auffallend ausgedehnt) und schwarzer Fühlerkeule. Kann den Käfer weder zu den Blatt noch zu den Bockkäfern einordnen. Auch bei den Schwarzkäfern habe ich ihn nicht entdeckt. Die Körperlänge beträgt so ca. 10-13mm. Möglich wäre ein Kosmopolit, der durch die Klimaerwärmung eingewandert ist.
