On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hallo Dome, das dürfte der Mehlkäfer Tenebrio molitor sein. Kulturfolger, lebt an stärkehaltigen Produkten, wie Mehl, Getreide, Backwaren, etc. und kann daran schädlich werden. Heute mehr im trockenen Kot der Stadttauben und anderen Vogel- oder Flugsäugerkot-Ansammlungen. Nachtaktiv und flugfähig, wird von Licht angelockt. Viele Grüße, Holger

Comment: Hallo heckerfeld, da hast du ein Weibchen des Sägebocks Prionus coriarius gerettet. Mit bis zu 45 mm Körperlänge eine unseren großen Bockkäferarten. Südpaläarktisch verbreitet: Nordafrika, Süd- und Mitteleuropa, Kleinasien, Kaukasus, bis Sibirien. Larve in den Wurzeln von Laubbäumen. Gar nicht so selten, aber ich habe diese Art noch nie selbst gefunden. Viele Grüße, Holger
