On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hallo ok, das ist der Hausbock Hylotrupes bajulus. Die Käfer entwickeln sich in totem Nadelholz, auch in Gebäuden, z.B. Dachstühlen, wo sie Schäden anrichten können. Ursprünglich aus Europa stammend, ist er heute weltweit verbreitet. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Andreas83663, na da schau einer guck, das ist ja ein fulminanter Einstieg auf kerbtier.de. Herzlich willkommen! Das ist der Schnellkäfer Elater ferrugineus. Die Larve entwickelt sich räuberisch im Mulm hohler alter Bäume. Die Käfer findet man in der Umgebung der Entwicklungsbäume. Nachtaktiv, wir vom Licht angelockt. In ganz Europa ohne den hohen Norden, aber selten. Stark gefährdet, RL 2. Danke für diese sehr coole Meldung, die erste für diese Art hier im Forum. LG, Christoph

Comment: Hallo Dieter, beim Käfer handelt es sich um den Aaskäfer Necrophorus vespilloides. Die Milben benutzen ihn als Transportmittel, Phoresie nennt sich dieses Verhalten. Im vorliegenden Fall dürfte es dem Käfer kaum Probleme machen. LG, Christoph
