On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Ohne Draufsicht schwer zu entscheiden, aber entwerder ein großer L. planus, oder ein L. sturnus Männchen kämen in Frage. Wir lassen es wohl besser bei Larinus sp. Viele Grüße, Michael

Comment: Hallo Hansi75, willkommen auf kerbtier.de. Das ist der Messingkäfer Niptus hololeucus. Ein typischer Bewohner alter Häuser, bei denen Zwischenböden mit Stroh verfüllt sind. Die nachtaktiven Käfer fressen organische Stoffe: Textilien, Federn, Pelze, Knochen, tote Insekten, etc. Die Schäden halten sich meist in Grenzen, weshalb die Tiere eher als Lästlinge einzustufen sind. Ursprünglich pontisch verbreitet, vom Menschen verschleppt, heute Kosmopolit. Viele Grüße, Daniel

Request: Huhu! Ein paar Sommerfunde hab ich mir noch für die dunkle Jahreszeit aufgehoben. Der hier ist aus den Hügeln über Ascona, und deswegen dachte ich vor Ort "Ich bin in den Alpen, es MUSS ein Alpenmistkäfer sein, ganz klar" *rofl*. Hab dann keine Detailfotos gemacht... Inzwischen weiß ich, dass es nicht so einfach ist :-(. Also geht hier Trypocopris alpinus, oder nur sp.? Länge etwa 15mm, gefunden auf 460m üNN, am 13.06.2017. Soll ich nochmal zurückgehen und die Unterseite ablichten? ;-)

Comment: Hallo Rüsselkäferin, ich kann's drehen und wenden wie ich will, ich halte das Tierchen für einen Trypocopris vernalis. Ich setz aber mal ein cf. dazu. LG, Christoph Auch hier vermute ich eher Trypocopris pyrenaeus splendens. Ich kann es nicht mit letzter Sicherheit sagen, aber zumindest in der Fauna-eu ist der für die Schweiz nicht genannt. Diese Unterart ist bisher wohl lediglich auf Italien beschränkt, so wie möglicherweise die komplette Art noch nicht aus der Schweiz dokumentiert ist. In so fern bin ich jetzt böse. ;-) Viele grüße, Klaas

Request: Huhu! So ganz habe ich meine Hoffnung auf einen Alpenmisti noch nicht aufgegeben ;-). Auch bei dem hier hab ich leider nicht die Unterseite fotografiert, ich war vom Fundort und den grünen und violetten Farben geblendet, die mir in DE noch nicht über den Weg gelaufen waren. Trypocopris sp., etwa 15mm lang, gefunden auf einer Waldwiese auf dem Monte Verità, 326m üNN, am 10.06.2017. Vielen Dank!

Comment: Moin grüner Glanzrüssel, mit Vorbehalt und ohne jede Gewähr würde ich den für Trypocopris pyrenaeus splendens halten. Ich kann ihn leider nicht sicher von T. vernalis f. viridissimus abgrenzen. Wenn ich sicher wüsste, dass es pyrenaeus ist, gäb' es jetzt Kloppe. ;-) Viele Grüße, Klaas

Comment: Hallo Steklu, das ist ein Ptilodactylide, wahrscheinlich Gattung Ptilodactyla. Die Familie ist bei uns nicht heimisch, die Käfer sind vornehmlich tropisch verbreitet. Sie werden jedoch gelegentlich mit tropischem Holz verschleppt und kommen auch in Gewächshäusern vor. Interessanter Fund! Viele Grüße, Moritz
