On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: I found this weevil on the banks of the stream near to our flat in District 4, Budapest on 24-04-18. It was pretty large, about 10-12 mm, probably a bit larger. My guess is Otiorhynchus ligustici.
Species, family:
Otiorhynchus ligustici
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi SkynetTX, confirmed as Otiorhynchus ligustici (with some doubt since in Germany thats 100 % but in Hungary I can only hope that there is no similar species). Best regards, Holger

Species, family:
Lyctus pubescens
Lyctidae
Comment: Hallo Neatus, bestätigt als Lyctus pubescens. Danke für die Meldung. LG, Christoph
