On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Ampedus pomonae ?
Date : 20-05-2018
Length : 11-12mm.
Location : Viroinval, Belgium
I think this is Ampedus pomonae because there is no middle line on the pronotum and there are black hairs at the side of the pronotum.
I try to find the differences between the Ampedus species but I think it's npot easy.
Best regards,
Johan
Species, family:
Ampedus pomorum

Comment: Moin verstraeten, nicht pomonae, sondern pomorum. ;-) Viele Grüße, klaas

Request: Colymbetes fuscus
Date : 11-05-2018
Location : Diepenbeek, Belgium
Length : approx 12mm.
This beetle was in a trap for counting the Northern crested newt in our local Nature reserves.
Best regards,
Johan
Species, family:
Rhantus suturalis
Dytiscidae
