On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: Hallo, dieser sprungfreudige kleine Kerl saß am 16.09.2018 mit mehreren seiner Art auf meinem Sonnenröschen. Habe ihn für den Blütenblattfraß im Verdacht. Darf er bei uns aber gern. Wir freuen uns über jeden der relativ seltenen Käferbesuche im Garten! Ca. 5 mm .

Comment: Moin Harry, die größte deutsche Laufkäferart, Carabus coriaceus oder auch Lederlaufkäfer ist es. Größer wird in Deutschland keine Art und in Mitteleuropa lediglich Carabus gigas, der mit 60 mm deutlich größer werden kann und in Mitteleuropa nur noch selten in Österreich gefunden werden kann, in Slowenien etc. aber noch regelmäßig anzutreffen ist.
