On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Species, family:
Harmonia axyridis
Coccinellidae

LG, Christoph

Beide Arten in ganz Europa, auf Ampfer (Rumex). Überall häufig. Die weißen Punkte sind wohl Pollen. LG, Christoph

Request: Hallo zusammen,
LG, Christoph

Request: Phyllobius spec ?
This weevil looks white when you see it in sunshine. Small :4mm
Photo taken in Lanaye, belgium in april 2014
Thanks in advance
Species, family:
Phyllobius sp.
Curculionidae
Comment: Hi verstraeten, I think this is either Phyllobius virideaeris or P. roboretanus (the latter I think is more likely based on the rounded shape of the pronotum). Best recognized by looking at the abdomen: With lengthy oval scales in P. virideaeris, and with very thin hairs in P. roboretanus. And finally I don't want to rule out Phyllobius maculicornis completely. Regards, Christoph

Request: This beetle was running on the tiles of our terrace in Belgium, Antwerp (30.03.2014), and with some patience I managed to take a picture of it.
Could this be Tachyporus chrysomelinus?
Species, family:
Tachyporus sp.
Staphylinidae
Comment: Hi Joachim, this should be indeed a representative of the rove beetle genus Tachyporus or closely related, but I rather don't believe in T. chrysomelinus. Impossible for me to provide a firm determination. Regards, Christoph
