On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Request: This small carabidae was found north of Copenhagen 01.05.2019 in area with old oaks and plains. Could it be an Acupalpus or a Trichocellus of af kind. Pictures are not the best, but hopefully its possible to get an id. I didnt have the size, but about 6-8 mm Thanks.

Comment: Moin CHK, die Larve von Schizotus hat annähernd halbkreisrunde Anhänge, was hier nicht gegeben ist. Das ist die Larve einer unserer Pyrochroa-Arten. Da unter Buchenrinde, vermute ich Pyrochroa coccinea. Da aber in Gewässernähe, ist die Larve von P. serraticornis auch nicht auszuschließen. Deshalb nur Pyrochroa sp. Viele Grüße, Klaas
