On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Comment: Hallo Mücke, das ist Prionocyphon serricornis. Ein netter Käfer. Die Art ist nicht unbedingt selten, aber man bekommt die Imagines, die in der Abenddämmerung aktiv werden, kaum zu Gesicht, außer wenn sie ans Licht kommen. Unter den bei uns vorkommenden Scirtiden-Arten auch deshalb bemerkenswert, da sie sich als einzige in Dendrotelmen, also Wasseransammlungen auf Bäumen, zum Beispiel in Stammgabelungen, entwickelt. Comment: Hallo coloniensis, Ocypus brunnipes sollte passen, wobei bei diesen Bildern eine Abgrenzung von Ocypus alpicola nicht ganz leicht ist. Es gibt noch Tasgius-Arten mit ähnlicher Färbung, die man aber zum Beispiel an den längeren Flügeldecken erkennen kann. Danke für die Meldung. Viele Grüße, Moritz

Comment: Hallo purzel 53, das ist Sermylassa halensis, also ein Blattkäfer. Die Käfer leben vor allem an Labkraut. Das Farbschema ist dem von Salpingus ruficollis zwar ziemlich ähnlich, aber die beiden Arten haben ansonsten nicht viel gemein. Es ist im Allgemeinen besser, mehr auf die Form als auf die Färbung der Käfer zu achten. Du kannst unsere Vergleichsfunktion nutzen, um Fotos von Sermylassa und Salpingus mal nebeneinanderzulegen und die Unterschiede zu studieren. Danke für die Meldung. Viele Grüße, Moritz
