On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

  Hallo Paul, ja der gehört in die Gattung Stenus. Eine Artbestimmung am Foto ist allerdings nur bei wenigen Arten möglich. Hier sieht's schlecht aus. lieben Gruß! Gernot   Sieht irre aus, so durchgehend stark punktiert! Mit der fehlenden Randung der Tergite und den kurzen Hintertarsus wohl in der Untergattung Tesnus zu verorten. Ich tendiere zu Stenus brunnipes, aber das bräuchte weitere Bestätigung. LG, Christoph

  Hi Gert, here I have to change my initial assessment after an external correction independently by K. Hadulla and P. Winkler: It is Leiopus femoratus, with relatively small lateral spines at the sides of the pronotum. The specimen should have been also rather small. Southeastern European species, meanwhile recorded in France, Luxembourg and in Germany. Your discovery might be the first for Belgium. Nice discovery! LG, Christoph

It can be recognized by the color of the legs and the shape of the pronotum. The most common of the species. Of northern palearctic distribution, missing in the Mediterranean region.
