View answered requests for beetle ID

On this page you can find photos submitted by users from the start in 2012 till the shutdown in 2023. If possible, the species are identified by the kerbtier.de ID team. Sometimes determination by photo only is impossible, in this case a hint on family and genus and potential species will be given.

Hallo Mr. Pampa, das ist die Tenebrionide Bolitophagus reticulatus. Europa, Sibirien.

This is a Rosechafer, subfamily Cetoniinae of family Scarabaeidae (some author take it as family Cetoniidae), but the number of species in the tropics and neotropics is this huge, that we can't tell what species this is. Regards, Klaas   I contacted Jean-Philippe Legrand, an expert for the Indonesian Cetoniinae fauna. He determined the beetle as Gametis plagiata. Regards, Christoph
